Establishing Your Target Market
If I were to start my home business over today there are a few things that I would do and they would have to be done in the correct order. Today I want to discuss day one in your business and that would be how to establish your target market. If you want to succeed and have online business success, establishing you target market has got to be one of the most important things that you will do. How do you establish your target market? Using google is one of the easiest ways to find out who your target will be for your online business. There are some questions that you will need to ask yourself when researching your target market.
1. Who is your customer
2. What does your customer do
3. What is your customers age group
4. Where does your customer live
5. What does your customer buy.
You will need to think of as many of these questions as possible as this will narrow down your search and give you quality customers when you start your marketing campaigns. Take each one of these questions that you come up with about your target customer and then type that phrase or question into google. This will give you some idea as to who your competition will be and they type of ads that they are using. Some of the keyword tools that I have used in obtaining keyword or key phrases for my marketing are as follows:

This keyword tool is Yahoos and is really good as it will give you a side by side look at the results from Yahoo, Google, and MSN so you will be able to understand the volume from each of the big three.

This keyword tool is pretty good. It is a third party and is free for now. This tool is currently for PC

Interesting blog post. What would you say was the most important marketing factor?
Hey John…I think everything spins off establishing your target market. Some of the questions I like to get people to ask themselves to help them find out who they should be marketing to are: 1. Who is your customer 2. What do they do 3. What is their age group 4. Where do they live 5. Where do they hang out If people would just sit down and think of as many questions as they could like the ones I have listed they would get a clear understanding of they core group of keywords and key phrases that they should be marketing to. This one little exercise will spill over and improve all type of marketing that you jump into.
Thanks John
